This is The application that allows to use an old system to tame spendings. It uses an envelope method to calm down people who are unable to track disposable income, and whose moneys frequently goes down the tubes regardless how much they are making. Set up the wallets, put the necessary budget for a period and enter every cent spent. When the period is not yet finished and your budget “Dining” is low, you avoid eating out to a restaurant, and buy a sandwich, thats it... Easy, but efficient like a Smith & Wesson. Experience shows that average people economize the amount spent on this software in a couple of days.

Actually the value of iBudget nvlops is far superior to its price. Its not a game with cool graphics, charts, sounds and interconnection magic. If you have got spending problem then adopting iBudget is an investment with a break even achieved and ROI at the end of the day. It just solves your problems. Its a veritable panacea. The functionality and interface are frugal and restricted by design. You dont want a bloatware difficult to learn and complex to use. You dont want to procrastinate by forgetting to use it every day.
You can start, use it during one week, then stop, then restart next week if the cure is not completed.
But by experience you will just enjoy this program when you realize that you get something in savings account at the end of pay period ( generally a week) when you have been feeling broken before. Its just like getting your body 6x pack visible after one exercise.

I like it
I purchased this app some time ago and have wanted to write a review to help others decide if the cost of the app was worth it. Dont let the tone of the writer of the apps description put you off (whats with the Smith and Wesson comment?). I used a Palm app (Quik Budget) for years and was looking for a similar app for my iPhone 3GS. This is exactly what I was looking for. You set up your budget categories ("wallets") and allocate your pay to each category (a la Dave Ramsey). You set the app to put your paycheck in each of your wallets weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or manually. Your pay is automatically added to the envelope at your designated interval. All you have to do is enter your expenses (and stick to your budget). The "Remains" shows how much is left in your wallet. Tapping one button, you can enter expenses, show a list of your expenses, or edit the wallet. Within a wallet, tapping the "spend" button, changes the button to "deposit" so you can easily add "found money" to a wallet. Under the expense tab, you can easily view your expenses (or deposits) within a certain category. You can also transfer between wallets and set up your wallets to automatically send the extra to savings if the amount of money goes over the budgeted amount (this feature is in "show" under expenses). I dont like the picture that comes up when the app loads (a Hindu goddess or something?) but it is only flashed briefly. Note to developer---please remove the picture, it is very distracting and unnecessary in a budgeting application. The app becomes more intuitive as you play around in it and the developer has a short guide on the iBudget website. Also, you cant set up sub-wallets, but this isnt a deal breaker because it seems that you can set up as many wallets as you need. Other than what Ive noted, I rather like the app. I use it in conjuction with BillMinder (they are both on my home screen) and I feel they work together very nicely. When a fixed bill is due or paid (like the mortgage), I go into ibudget and subtract the money from the wallet. For my flexible accounts (food, toiletries, etc.) I subtract from the wallet as I spend the money. I love knowing, at a glance, how much money I really have to spend at any time in any budget category. I hope this helps.
Difficult to set up
This app is truly awful. Maybe Ill come back and write another review once Ive figured this thing out. I cant seem to get it to do what I want to...how do you delete the useless presets??? An app should be much more user friendly for such a price. It is so ugly and lame that I cant seem to stick with it long enough to figure out. Yes, we like pretty colors. Colored tabs and such help us to find what we need quickly and easily. Ive decided this app is a pain in the neck and waste of money, for now. Thats what I get for thinking you get what you pay for. What a sucker. The concept was exactly what I needed. This app did not live up to my standard.
Horrible crashing app!
This app crashed every single time I used it. I would barely touch it and it would crash! Absolutely horrible! Dont make the same mistake I did by purchasing it!
